We are seeking to recruit a Design Quality Engineer (DQE) to join our product development and quality team. This role plays a key part in ensuring design quality throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from early-stage planning to design validation and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on power tools and garden tools.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to embed quality principles into the product design process by conducting early quality planning, managing design risks, validating samples, and driving cross-functional collaboration to ensure products meet internal standards, customer expectations, and industry requirements.
Main Responsibilities
Early Design Quality Planning
• Carry out quality planning during the early design stage, including requirement transformation and alignment with relevant standards.
• Identify and assess design-related risks to prevent potential quality issues.
Design Process Quality Control
• Participate in and organize design solution reviews to ensure quality compliance.
• Develop and implement key design verification and validation plans.
Prototype & Sample Quality Validation
• Organize and supervise sample testing activities.
• Provide quality support during trial production and pilot runs.
Design Finalization & Continuous Improvement
• Prepare, release, and archive design quality documentation.
• Drive design quality improvements and iterative optimization based on testing and production feedback.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Standards Alignment
• Work closely with R&D, Production, and other departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Track and synchronize industry standards, regulations, and technology updates related to design quality.
Requirements
Essential
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Design & Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Quality Management Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in DQE or related roles within the manufacturing industry.
• At least 2 years of experience in power tools (e.g. drills, saws) or garden tools (e.g. lawn mowers, hedge trimmers).
• Strong sense of responsibility with excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and drive projects forward with multiple departments.
