We are seeking to recruit an R&D Mechanical Design Engineer to join our product development team. This role focuses on the structural design and development of cordless power tools and garden tools, supporting new product projects from concept through mass production.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to undertake complete mechanical structure design for new power and garden tool products, ensuring that designs meet project timelines, technical requirements, manufacturability standards, and reliability targets.
Main Responsibilities
Product Design & Development
• Design the complete mechanical structure of new power tools and garden tools, including lithium-ion cordless products.
• Execute design tasks according to project milestones and internal/external customer requirements.
• Develop and release engineering drawings, BOMs, tooling-related parts, and other project deliverables.
• Participate in and support structural design reviews and confirmations across all stages, including:
o Engineering prototypes
o Pilot production
o Mass production approval
Engineering Change & Validation
• Implement product design changes and conduct corresponding technical and reliability verification.
• Ensure all design modifications meet performance, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
Cross-functional Collaboration
• Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth project execution.
• Support tooling development and manufacturing readiness.
Other Duties
• Complete other temporary or ad-hoc tasks assigned by management as required.
Requirements
Essential
• Associate degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical product design.
• Proven experience independently developing cordless power tools or garden tools.
• Strong understanding of common manufacturing processes used in power tools, including:
o Plastic injection molding
o Machining
o Powder metallurgy
o Stamping
o Die casting
• Proficiency in CREO, UG (NX), and CAXA design software.
• Strong sense of responsibility with a results-oriented mindset.
• Good adaptability and ability to work under pressure.
Desirable
• High level of innovation and willingness to explore new design solutions.
• Experience working on full product life cycles from concept to mass production.
